In this session of the Music For Ministry Podcast, I have the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Larry Brubaker. Larry has traveled with the Ron Comfort Evangelist Team for 37 years. His responsibilities for the team include leading the congregational singing and directing the Crusade Choir in singing his arrangements. Larry is also the music pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC.
Having traveled as a music evangelist all across the country, Larry knows well how to minister with music in the local church. He has lead countless revival choirs and has written over 30 songs for revival choirs to sing. He continues to minister on various musical instruments including the piano, organ, trombone, euphonium and the accordio-organ.
In this session, Larry and I chat about:
- What it was like as a child growing up in Northern Il.
- His relationship with his crippled father.
- When he began learning his first instrument.
- Who inspired him to lead singing with his trombone?
- What led him to attend Bob Jones University?
- The forming of The King’s Men.
- How he began traveling with Evangelist Ron Comfort.
